Buffs Begin Clash With Loss to Spartans

The Colorado hockey team opened the spring semester with a 5-2 loss to the Michigan State Spartans on Friday in the Gulf Coast Clash tournament in Fort Myers, Fla.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Colorado Buffaloes hockey team dropped the first game of the Gulf Coast Clash tournament on Friday night as they were defeated 5-2 by the Michigan State Spartans at Germain Arena.

 

CU’s record drops to 11-8-1-1 on the season while MSU improves to 9-5-0-1 on the year.

 

Senior Conor Williams and junior Alex Lencioni scored for the Buffs.

 

Colorado is the defending champions of the tournament and will look to get back to their winning ways on Saturday night as they’ll play the Boston College Eagles at 6 p.m. ET.

 

The Buffs will close out weekend play on Sunday against host, Florida Gulf Coast, at 7 p.m. ET.
