SALT LAKE CITY
– The No. 4 University of Colorado Buffaloes Division II men’s ice hockey team heads to Utah to take on No. 6 Utah, Bingham Young University and No. 2 Utah State this weekend.

Last weekend, the Buffs defeated the Texas A&M Aggies and the Northern Colorado Bears in their first weekend of hockey of the spring semester to improve their ACHA record to 16-5-0-1. They are currently on a nine game win streak and maintain an undefeated record at home.

This will be Colorado’s first meting with Utah State and BYU this season. The Buffs faced the University of Utah on Nov. 20 and routed them 4-1 during the Beehive Showcase.

“This will be a big test for us as a team,” said forward Zach Lass. “We get to see how we match up against good teams like Utah State.”

The Buffaloes kick off the weekend against Utah (22-6) on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at the Salt Lake Sports Complex in Salt Lake City. Next, the Buffs will faceoff against BYU (1-19) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Peaks Ice Arena in Provo. They conclude the weekend against Utah Sate (24-1-1-0) on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at the George S. Eccles Ice Center in Logan.

The Buffs return home Jan. 28 to play Lindenwood University at the CU Ice Arena at 7:30 p.m. Admission to all Division II home games is $3 for students with a Buff One card and $5 for the general public.
