BOULDER – The No.4 University of Colorado men’s Division II ice hockey team pushes for their second of the weekend tonight as they take on the No. 7 San Jose State Spartans at the CU Ice Arena at 7:30 p.m.
Last night, the Buffs defeated the No.10 University of Denver Pioneers 5-3. Colorado and Denver went head-to-head in the first period, but the Buffs were able to increase their lead throughout the second period and into the final stanza. The Pioneers didn’t let up and were able to score twice more against the Buffs. This win improved on the Buffaloes record to 21-6-0-1.
Tonight, Colorado will take on San Jose for the second time in the 2011-12 season. The Buffs last encounter with the Spartans resulted in a 4-2 victory for CU. The Spartans are coming into the contest with a 16-12-0-1 record.
Admission to all Division II home games is $5 for the general public and $3 for students with a valid Buff One card.
