Game Information and Protocol
2008-2009 Season
General Information:
Rink Location: All Home Games are played in the University of Colorado Ice Arena located within the Boulder campus. The CU campus is approximately 45 minutes from the Denver International Airport (DIA) approximately 35 minutes from downtown Denver (DU) and approximately 55 minutes from Fort Collins (CSU), and approximately 60 minutes from Greeley (UNC).

Parking: Event parking is available in Lot #380 located east of Mackey Dr. off Pleasant St. This is a university pay parking lot which requires purchase of a payment receipt from the kiosk located on Mackey Dr. at all times, even if the gate arm is “open.”
Home Team: CU as the Home Team will wear white jerseys and occupy the west bench area behind the “Colorado” on the rink dasher boards.
Visiting Team: The Visiting Team will wear its dark jerseys and occupy the east bench area behind “Buffaloes” on the rink dasher boards.
Visitor Locker Room: Is located in the southwest corner of the rink area adjacent to the bleachers. Restrooms are located east of the locker room/rink area and through the multiple sets of doors. Shower facilities are located on the lower level and accessible through the doors immediately east of the visitor locker room.
For security reasons, a key to the visitor locker room can be checked out from the CU Team Manager, CU is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
Game Protocol:
· No team shall enter the ice until game officials are on the ice
· Both teams will enter and exit the ice through the same doors located on the southwest corner of the rink. The visiting team will enter and exit the rink first.
· Teams will enter the rink for warm-ups on a clean ice surface at:
Approx. 7:10 pm – Friday and Saturday Games
Approx. 8:10 pm – Thursday Games
(Note: Actual Game Start Times are subject to completion time of proceeding games)
· There will be a 10 minute clock timed warm up with pucks being provided by CU
· Ice Cut ( approx. 10 minutes)
· Prior to the start of the game, both teams will enter the ice and line up on their respective goal lines for introductions of starting players and playing of the national anthem
· 7:45 pm game start time (8:45 pm Thursday games)
· 20 minute First Period
· Ice Cut (approx. 10 mintes)
· Only starting 5 players allowed on the ice, remaining players to go directly to bench. Any stretching should take place off the ice before the gate doors are open.
· 20 minute Second Period
· Ice Cut (approx. 10 minutes)
· Only starting 5 players allowed on the ice, remaining players to go directly to bench. Any stretching should take place off the ice before the gate doors are open.
· 20 minute Third Period
· If the game ends tied after regulation play both teams will remain on ice for a 2 minute timed rest period followed by a 5 minute 4 on 4 Sudden Death Overtime.
· Teams line up after each game for the traditional handshake
